Commuter Song #6
Wednesday daylight
something’s not right
may be, maybe I…
Subway somehow
wrong way right now
lost myself in the crowd.
Do what they do
chaotic queue
push your weight to get ahead.
Look the other way,
but don’t turn the other cheek;
so what if you’re not strong,
just don’t let them see you’re weak.
When I can’t speak
and I freak out
I swim against the rush hour crowd…
How many lies can I take?
How many sighs should I fake?
There’s nothing in their faces,
like grey was pasted on to keep me out.

Insomniac – Part II
She wears disposable youth
has lips
that look as if they’d taste like plums.
I am
yum-yum
bathing in deliciousness
entranced
but also stare one look too long.
Hypnotic
…tick
…tock
…tick
While shadows lick my electric room
sink under, then into
chemical smiles
enhanced
inconspicuous sin.
I touch her ghost
undressed
it dances violet
striptease.
Spectacular kiss
obsessed
worth
lost
in
me.
She.
