FADE IN

Shadows. Shapes. Low muffled sounds in darkness. Movement, erratic, and then nothing but STATIC.

EXT. – PERMANENT MIDNIGHT

Wasp-like motorcycles, windswept subways, skeletal ghost trains. Black and Thalo Blue and Neon Green. SpyRiders racing off to close encounters – UNDERGROUND – secret passages with uncanny entry/warning signs.

“Achtung! RanDoom Martinne”

Corporate Gothic bar hostess chic. Stealth dolphins, moonbeam wraiths. Mechanical palaces of advert and [black] light. Armies in the streets. Mutant police with psionic abilities. Cutting off thumbs and ears, searing shut eyes.

Radioactive waste realms. Erector Set landscapes. Tokyo Expressopolis.

EXT. – SHINJUKU ZONE-B

BOY and GIRL. Talking. GIRL mentions “The ReBar” – how a friend had gone and loved it. Where was it? She can’t remember. Will have to ask.

EXTREME CLOSE-UP – ORANGE PYLON

ZOOM OUT to reveal concrete. Then, spray painted in black, “Made in RealChina”. Next, an “All Roads Closed” sign. Finally, an umarked convoy of trucks leaving the scene.

EXTREME CLOSE-UP – RAIN

ZOOM OUT to reveal two SpyRiders sitting on their bikes, regarding Under-DownTown from somewhere up above. One says to the other, “It’s too late.”

EXT. – SHINJUKU ZONE-B

Cigarettes, smiles, and slow conversation. BOY suddenly feels something. A tremor. Buildings begin to crack and break and fall. Sounds of CRASHING and SCREAMING. Panic. Chaos culminating into a blur. BOY tells GIRL to get up. Run. Follow him.

FADE TO BLACK

A dispirited voice whispers, “Close the walls.” – sound of GRATING METAL, SCREECHING, and STATIC

CUT TO – INT. APARTMENT

Two teens sit quietly, staring at an antique television hissing with STATIC. After a spell, the older teen asks, “So, do you want to see it from the start again?”
